UniMAP Agronexus is an agricultural project developed on UniMAP’s land in Sungai Chucuh. To date, 80 acres have been cultivated, focusing on short-term crops such as vegetables, cucumbers, watermelons, eggplants, pumpkins, root crops, lemongrass, pineapples, and mushrooms. These cultivation projects are managed by alumni-owned companies, agricultural firms, and government agencies, utilizing funding from the Ministry of Economy (via the IPR INTAN package) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (through agency matching grants such as the RISE-UP grant). The projects support UniMAP in the areas of learning, research, and expert consultancy. UniMAP leverages its expertise to assist the industry in resolving cultivation challenges through smart farming systems and the use of agricultural robotics, while also providing field training to the local community. Additionally, UniMAP collaborates with operating companies to organize agricultural technology courses that enable participants to obtain Malaysian Skills Certification (Level 3), thereby adding value to the local farming community.
