Institute of Sustainable Agrotechnology (INSAT), previously known as Agrotechnology Development Unit, was established on March 1, 2007. The Institute is one of the initiatives of the University's Strategic Plans to service the local agriculture industry especially for Perlis.
INSAT was officially established on January 1, 2013.
The GPS coordinate for INSAT is 6.65263oN, 100.260908oE and is northern east of Kangar, the capital of Perlis. It is less than 30km from Kangar and about 7kmto Padang Besar, the border town of Malaysia/Thailand.
The Director of INSAT, presently is Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Syarhabil Ahmad.
The current Deputy Director of INSAT is Dr. Muhammad Firdaus Bin Abdul Muttalib.
